Northwest High School has been designated as an A+ School. This means that if a student signs an agreement form and meets the following requirements, upon graduation they then may be eligible to receive a grant that covers two years of tuition at any public community college, or public vocational or technical school in the state of Missouri. A+ Agreement Forms can be picked up in the Guidance Office or the Freshmen Principal's Office.

Qualifications for the student under the guidelines of the grant program are as follows:

•Attend a designated high school for three consecutive years prior to graduation.
Beginning with the class of 2015, students must earn an advanced or proficient on the official Algebra I EOC to be A+ eligible at graduation for the A+ incentive.  If they don't pass, but meet all other A+ requirements (and are enrolled in the program), they can enroll in a A+ eligible Community College, take a minimum 12 hours and pay out of pocket for the 1st semester.  If they achieve a 2.5 gpa, they can then apply to begin using A+ funds 2nd semester.

Graduate with a cumulative (over 4 years) grade point average of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
•Graduate with a cumulative (over 4 years) 95% attendance record.
•Maintain a record of good citizenship as defined in the citizenship guidelines, and avoid the unlawful use of drugs, including alchohol.
•Perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring.
•Students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form (FAFSA) prior to graduation.
