About Your Board of Education
The Board of Education customarily meets on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings are held in the District. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend. Regular and special meetings are open to the public. Executive sessions are closed to the public in accordance with Missouri Sunshine Law. Check the calendar for meeting times and locations. Budget Information The school budget is an instrument that provides a definite financial policy for the direction of business operations. It provides an outline of the probable expenditures and anticipated revenues for the fiscal year. The Board of Education assumes the legal obligation of adopting a budget prior to the beginning of the fiscal year.
According to Missouri State statutes this budget shall include: 1. A budget message describing important features and major changes 2. Anticipated revenues by fund and function 3. Estimated expenditures for each function and object 4. A summary of debt service requirements 5. A summary page that projects beginning balances, revenues, expenditures, transfers and final balances
The adoption of the budget authorizes the administration to expend funds and make encumbrances according to guidelines set forth by Board policy.
