You child will be starting line and shape in art. Introduction or review will depend on class level. Children should know straight lines, curved lines, wavy lines, spiral lines, thick and thin lines. Squares, circles, rectangles, ovals and triangles will also be introduced or reviewed. |
The children will once again be producing art work that I will send off to SQUARE ONE ART. Square One is a company that reproduces your child's art onto a number of fun and useful items. I had previously used Art To Remember. Square One basically does the same thing, but they do not require you to buy magnets with your childs artwork on them after they have sent them. Instead, Square One will send a page of stickers for you to preview and they will be yours to keep even if you do not purchase. Through these fundraisers I have been able to purchase a number of things for the art room. I am happy to inform you that with the help of the PTO and the money I have earned from these fundraisers, Murphy has a BRAND NEW KILN!! I am taking a workshop on the kiln this summer at Krueger Pottery and will be slowly working in the use of it starting with the fourth and fifth grades. I hope everyone had a great summer! Welcome back to school!!!
PS.....The art room is always in need of paper. The kids and I really appreciate any donations!!!
